Summer Cruise : July Quadra exchange 2014

This is a Collab between myself and the wonderfully talented who made the piece look SO EPICALLY WONDERFUL! It is for the July Quadra exchange for a very specific group, of which I have been so honored as to been invited to. The characters are 's and 's and ikebosev had the idea of making a rather funny lil pic XD with the concept being to have Simple (who is said to have bad movement detection with their eyes) miss the ball in a game of volley ball and be completely oblivious to it XD a rather ticklish idea, no? I luved it, and did the line art unfortunately and beneficially. I also laid the colours down, and ikebosev did the inking and shading, and man, did they do wonderfully! I can't believe how hard it was to draw this! I had to put all my other art projects on hold, put off most gaming, browsing, and other minor freetimes. I had to start over at one point, and I had to play with unfamiliar perspectives, deadlines (I'm always bad with those) and human faces! But hard is good, yes? It is the rough stuff that at first hurts, but then our skin becomes calloused, and strong, and better!

I hope 5Finne5 will forgive that I made some strange abomination of a hoodie-swimsuit combo in place of their actual hoodie. There weren't any pictures of the character without their hoodie, and considering their various forms, I didn't feel safe assuming they would look normal under the hood, not to mention that the character's gender isn't even decided upon (at least not when I drew this) so a traditional swimsuit was just a no go as I don't think there is any gender neutral swimwear, so I hoped they wouldn't mind if I just made a strange, ugly perversion of their character's hoodie

The little grey skinned faceless babies are my own doing. It's kinda funny where they came from, I was looking at Nywe, who ikebosev wanted to be drinking a cocktail, and thought "How would she drink with no opposable thumbs?" I then guessed that the bar tender would help her with that, and then somehow that bartender turned into a little grey humanoid with a missing hand and no face...and then others like it appeared out of no where on the page.

These little grey men look like babies, but are actually old enough to correct your history books on ancient Egypt, Rome, Babylon, and other civilizations. They make up the entirety of the task force of the ship, they pilot the ship, cook the food, serve the vacationers, clean up the messes, they preform every duty and job there is to do on the ship except the rest and relaxation! (though, they're sure to sneak some of that in as well) they don't like being referred to as babies, children, toddlers, and the like. They don't, however, mind being called cute, adorable or even being picked up, adored, and coddled (not that that happens a lot) just as long as they're not currently busy and as long as nothing resembling baby wear enters the picture. They may appear to be malformed or maimed, but that's just how they were born, it's as normal as us being born with different types of hair, noses, and other defining characteristics. They don't appear to have any discernable facial features, such as a nose, eyes, ears, mouth, or even hair, but they can still talk, eat, see, smell, and hear just as well as we can. They may be small in stature, and infantile in appearance, but they're as strong as most human adult males, so don't be afraid to just drop off all of your heavy luggage and crash on the nearest pool chair! You're on a cruise ship after all!
